Electronic Music Production

This course is taught by Ken Wendt.

Curriculum Overview: Over a 6 week period, we cover all you need to know about Ableton Live, including the following topics.
  • MIDI Sequencing
  • Recording, editing and mixing audio
  • Analog and digital synthesis
  • Composing and performing original music
We cover pop, hip-hop, electronic and experimental music production styles. Each session is 3 hours in duration. You will meet in-person with your instructor and group once every week. You’ll have access to Ableton Live 10 Suite and a Push 2 controller in-class. Students meet in-person for 3 hours for 1 day a week for 6 weeks.



Max Audio Programming

This course is taught by Ricky Graham.


A course dedicated to audio synthesis, Max programming and variants. Students will learn:
  • Introduction to visual programming with BEAP
  • Learning modular programming; modulation synthesis: AM, RM, + FM Synthesis
  • Granular synthesis; a look at elastic audio in the time and frequency domain
  • UI/UX design in Max/MSP and Max for Live; building the front-end;  incorporating the Live API for Max for Live devices
  • NodeJS: build custom servers or run small applications directly from your Max patch
  • gen~: efficient processes and code generators for VST development

Students meet in-person for 3 hours for 1 day a week for 6 weeks.
